@AuntG I think your husband will love Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry.  It is the first book in an excellent series.  The writing is superb, and I don't say that often.  I am hooked on all of his books, now, and I intend to read every last one of them.  Maberry researches actual science and technological devices used in the military, and he accurately describes these in many of his novels.  

Also, Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is a great read, an intensely satisfying sci fi novel that is completely original.

I recently read One Good Deed, by David Baldacci it was wonderful. 

Now if you really want to scare the beejebbies out of him then get him a copy of My Lovely Wife, by Samantha Downing.  He will be shocked that any woman could be capable of all that.  Have a great vacation.

I have only read three of the books so perhaps the Cat magically reappears. However, in books 1 & 2 he has a cat In book 3 he has a dog. In his line of work, the dog makes more sense, but I catch insignificant details like that when I read books.

Does he like sports at all? My hubby will sit down and read anything about sports! And almost all the big name athletes have written books so there are plenty to chose from. Just an idea if he likes sports!

@BornToShop for his first book of summer, I got The Devil's Punchbowl by Greg Iles. He took one look at the size and asked how long he has to read it! One month and it is the large print edition.
