My library is having a night called a Silent Book Club.  They want people to come and get comfy in the chairs by the fireplace and read for an hour with no distractions or interruptions.  After an hour there will be socializing with each other to discuss books.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

I will say we have a very good library.  They are always trying to do different things to get the community reading and involved with the library and with each other.

I like that system.

@Travone  I like that idea.  If you go, please let us know how it went.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Great idea, I wish my local Phila branch would do it....but they're pretty concerned over the homeless looking for reprieve from the sidewalk. I don't blame either side of that issue.

I would love to visit a library offering this set up. Sounds lovely.

Your public library has a FIREPLACE? That's incredible! I want to be in your community!
This Silent Book Club idea sounds absolutely lovely. Enjoy!

The silent book  club is at the end of the month.  If I am able to go, I will let you know.  I hope it is well attended.  I also hope I don't get too comforable and fall asleep...it is in the evening.Smiley Very Happy
