Ebooks all the way! So much easier to hold especially since I read a lot and in bed. I’ve used the library more now than I did when I read soft and hard covered books. Either I borrow from their e library or will borrow a book if I don’t want to wait for the ebook.

I use my Kindle all the time and buy my books from Amazon. It can get expensive so I try to find some good low cost books and I've tried Kindle unlimited. It has its pros & cons.
I love the Kindle! I can adjust the font to be just the right size for my eyes and I can hold a virtual library in only a few ounces! This feature is particularly convenient when I go to visit my mother...or any trip for that matter. I like to bring several books with me but don't like added weight.

My library is great. I am there quite often. I read quite a few books so would never buy them. Just read and return.

I get books from Ebay. Good prices, new or like new condiiton, and I look for free shipping.
I purchased a Kindle a few months ago. I haven't purchased a book yet,
just been reading the freebies. I have a list of books I want to purchase,
but price is still higher than I want to spend. Keeping an eye of them hoping
price drops.

I buy books From a thrift store and sometimes a book store or Amazon if it's a new release.
I have been trying to part with the hundreds of books that I own. I am running out of room to store them, but feel just awful getting rid of them. I have been trying to donate them one or two at a time.
Mostly, I now get Kindle books or electronic books from the library. I still prefer an old fashioned book, but all those books are a problem when I am done ready them.
I finish reading most books in one day, I am a fast reader.

All of the above. Borrowed books obviously come from my local library, where I worked part time a few years ago. Books that I buy and recycle come from a variety of sources: any of my area library’s used book tables, from friends, thrift shops, yard sales, and used book stores. I do have an e reader and load it up with mostly free books. I am careful with Kindle Unlimited after I read about the Nora Roberts debacle of her and other authors having their works pirated.

There's a fabulous library in East Lansing that sells used books year-round. This library receives so many donations (because of MSU) that they only present the cream, and dole the rest out to other local libraries.
Every week there are certain categories that are priced at 50 cents or a dollar--who can resist that?
I have a friend who lives in Lansing, so I go there every other week (my recent hip replacement means I'll have to wait longer till I can drive there again), and we start off our time at the East Lansing Library, go to a couple other used book stores, and wind up at Schuler's, an ultimate book store that features many used books.
The Lansing area receives the bulk of my book budget.

I use my library when I can. If they don’t have it, they can get a book from our CT library system where they can borrow a book from another library, and it will be sent to them
When I do buy books, it is often from Amazon. Unless it is a real “keeper,” I give it away to my DB or a dear friend living across the country. We send books back and forth, using the special book rate offered by our postal system. My friend, two degrees in English and a retired teacher, has a massive amount of books. A nice room in her home that is a designated library. She recently donated a large amount of books for children, which she had saved. She donated them to an Indian reservation school.

Lots of different places .... depending on the book.
Used/Out-of-Print/Foreign Language: ABE Books and Alibris (online). They have connections with European book sellers (mainly France, Germany and UK) and I've been able to find all sorts of obscure foreign language books and out-of-print books.
Just recently, I found a book I spent about 10 years looking for from a bookseller in France via ABE books. I had seen it on microfilm at the library and wanted to have my own actual book!
For new bargain books ... Daedalus (salebooks dot com) ... They also have DVDs and CDs.
And last, but not least .... Amazon.
If it's available on Kindle - I'll buy the Kindle version if available. I download a lot of "classics" ... those are usually only a couple of dollars each. I rarely pay more than $5 for a Kindle version. There are so many online services that recommend books and lately I bought quite a bit of fiction .... summer leisure reading.
And - free updates on Kindle versions. Also, if I buy a hard copy of a Kindle book or vice versa ... it's discounted. I've been donating some old hard copies and replacing them with Kindle versions.
I love the pre-order facility at Amazon. Order the book, and when it's released it's automatically downloaded on my device. I have 3 Kindles and the Kindle app on my PC, iPhone and android.
Surprisingly - a lot of the more "academic" books aren't available on Kindle..
For knit/crochet/craft/cook books. I want those in hard copies.

I use the library but right now mine is being remodeled until July I believe. How horrible as it is summer!
I buy a lot of books used from Amazon if they are in good/very good condition. I buy also from the thrift store and believe it or not I have actually found a few really, really good novels at the Dollar Store.
