I recommend "The Second Life of Mirielle West" by Amanda Skenandore

 

It is sad but still a good story you don't want it to end

The most heartbreaking story I have ever read was called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas".  It was also made into a movie but read the book.  VERY powerful.
