Please help me choose a book - Jewish fiction / literature

My book club got our genre assignments for 2019 and my genre is Jewish fiction.

I'm searching for a light hearted book, not a Holocaust novel. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

That's my favorite and I don't read Holocaust theme.  Too depressing.

A few of mine are:

The Wartime Sisters by Lynda Cohen Loigman

The Two-Family House - Lynda Cohen Loigman

Not Our Kind - Kitty Zeldis

Modern Girls - Jennifer S. Brown

You might enjoy reading, "The Bridge Ladies," by Betsy Lerner.

Recently read the Boston Girl and recommend it, too.  Russian family relocates to Boston in the early 1900's.  The frame is the only daughter born in America recounting her 20th century American story to a grandchild.

A very popular and interesting novel of Jewish historical accuracy (debatable) set in Biblical times. It will be easy to find on library shelves or  to pick up an inexpensive used paperback.

The Red Tent. By Anita Diamant

It was also made into a movie.  Loads of reviews of this book so you can see if it interests you before picking it up. I found it a good read that kept me intrigued and enhanced my sense of my heritage.

I also read The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant and others by her.

I also read The Marrying of Chani Kaufman and most of Naomi Ragen's.  Couldn't finish Jacob's Folly.

@SWEETBy far my favorite book on this list is All I Know and Love. I also liked Hush by Eisher Chayil but did not include it as the topic is very serious.

I also have Judith Frank's on my tbr list. Right now I'm going through my books on Goodreads and making shelves for Jewish fiction and non-fiction.  It might take me a while!
