@Alter Ego wrote:
“The Dry” by Jane Harper
“Beartown” by Fredric Backman
“Magpie Murders” by Anthony Horowitz
“I Liked My Life” by Abby Fabiaschi (possibly my favorite)

Currently listening to and enjoying

“Sourdough” by Robin Sloan, but I reserve the right to edit my choices if I don’t like the ending!

These were all audiobooks.

@Alter Ego- hi, I enjoyed The Dry very much. I gave it four stars. I understand the author is writing another book with the same detective. I'm looking forward to reading it.

@Judaline- The River at Night was one scary book, wasn't it? I hope the author writes another one. I enjoyed her style of writing.

@sunala@AlterEgo,

I have "The Dry" on the way from Book Depository UK (love them) and I'll probably push it up in the queue LOL.

The next one "Force of Nature," will be published in early February.  It's got a lot of great reviews at Goodreads, I think because it's already published in Australia?   It has a very different plot and looks great!

@LoriLori - thanks for the heads up.  Just preordered the audiobook of “Force of Nature” (you’re right- it does sound good!) Not sure if it will go up in price closer to release, but it is currently less than my monthly subscription price.

@sunala The new book is called Force of Nature.  I liked it.  It was not as good as The Dry though

@kitty45- Thanks for the info. I didn't even know it was out yet. I'm sorry that it wasn't as good as The Dry.

Rarely are second books ever as good as the original.

@smoky22 You & I have similar taste in books.  I've either read or have most of the books listed on my TBR.
