@cindyNC, I often post them the day after Fridays, so you're just on time. Smiley Wink  The free selections are good for the whole weekend...if you go to Barnes & Noble's website and type Free Friday in the search bar, it will come up.  Have a great week!

The Nook Free Friday selection for October 17th is The Ghostly Grounds: Murder and Breakfast by Sophie Love.  This week's selection is available as an eBook and an audiobook.  Happy reading or listening!

Edited to add: this is also available on Amazon for Kindle.

The Ghostly Grounds: Murder and Breakfast (A Canine Casper Cozy Mystery-Book 1)

Marie Fortune, 39, a successful dog groomer in Boston, has had enough of catering to the wealthy and their pampered dogs. Realizing it is time to make a change, she quits and heads to a small coastal town in Maine where she remembers fond summers as a kid. Marie expects to go for a brief getaway-and is shocked to learn that her great-aunt left her an inheritance: a dilapidated, historic house high up on a hill overlooking the harbor.

Marie feels an instant connection. Although the locals tell her it would be folly, Marie decides to renovate and give it a second life as a B&B.

But there is one thing she couldn't have planned for: the house is haunted.

Two things, actually: her great-aunt also left her a dog-and he is far from a typical dog.

When an unexpected death occurs soon thereafter, solving the crime will be more than just a matter of curiosity for Marie-her very future may depend on it.

A page-turning cozy, packed with mystery, love, hauntings, travel, pets and food-anchored around a small town and a B&B in need of renovation that will capture your heart-THE GHOSTLY GROUNDS is an un-putdownable cozy that will keep you turning pages (and laughing out loud) late into the night.

The Nook Free Friday selection for October 24th is Two Spinsters and a Corpse by Eve Tarrington.

Two Spinsters and a Corpse: A Historical Murder Mystery

Two Regency era spinsters, one quiet and one quarrelsome, try to catch a killer before Christmas in this new historical mystery series.

Miss Judith St Clair is a frugal and pious young woman. When her father accepts a lucrative new position as the rector of a parish in Derbyshire just before Christmas, she is dismayed that she and all her siblings must move to this cold and inhospitable country while still in mourning for their mother. What's worse, her father's patrons are the rich and imposing Haddingtons, a family recently settled at Wycliff Castle.

Miss Louisa-Margaretta Haddington, after years of dismissing every possible suitor, is in love. But her parents, who will not consent to the match, have removed her and her reputation from harm by buying an enormous estate in Derbyshire. Louisa-Margaretta is determined to avoid everyone, but when she and the rector's daughter both take refuge in the library to avoid dancing with gentlemen at a ball, they are unwitting witnesses to a murder.

Though each young woman despises the other, they know they will need each other's help if they are to find the killer and save their families. With Judith's quiet intelligence and Louisa-Margaretta's fiery and flirtatious nature, they set out to solve the puzzle. But when one of them has a brush with death disguised as a hunting accident, they realise that they must be quick, or they shall risk running out of time.
