Re: New novels by Russo, Patchett and Strout

I have finished reading Russo's Chances Are....  It is classic Russo.  He has a talent for creating that American male character of the latter half of the last century.  I really enjoyed the first two thirds of the novel, less so with the last third.  That said, if you are a Russo fan, I think you will enjoy this new book.  If you just like fiction focused on character development, you will probably like it.

A tip:  as to the upcoming Patchett and Strout novels, my local library already has a wait list for both novels, and I am on them.  Early waitlisters are more likely to get the book when it first comes out.  You may want to check with your local library about such waitlists if that appeals to you.

I'm most interested in Russo--I LOVE HIM. I also appreciate Patchett, but with Strout I'm on and off.

Re: New novels by Russo, Patchett and Strout

I picked up the Russo novel yesterday at the library but will probably be a few days before I can start.  Way too many new have come in for me lately I need more hours and eyes.
