I recently tried to listen to Susan Mallery's, Home Sweet Christmas.  I could not get past the narrator's voice and the way she read the book.   I also couldn't get into the story.  Maybe because of the narrator?  I don't know.  What I do know is I stopped listening.

I'm not a big fan of books revolving around Christmas, but I do enjoy Mallery's books, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Now, I am listening to Catherine Bybee's, Be Your Everything: The DeAngelo's Book 2.  I enjoyed book 1 very much. Book 2 centers around Chloe and Dante. So far, I'm enjoying their story, as well.

When I'm done with Bybee's book, next on my list is A Wish for Winter by Viola Shipman.

I know I won't be back  here before Thanksgiving.  I wish you all a wonderful holiday.

@dmod nj - It sounds to me like you're going to be very busy this week! I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving, and I hope to see you soon xox Sunny

Thank you, Sunny @sunala , same to you and yours. Heart
Family is here until the end of the week.  Lots of cooking, laughter and reminiscing is going on in the kitchen.

[ Edited ]

The Light we Carry, by Michelle Obama.  I checked this book out Friday afternoon after leaving the office and took it back to the library drop box before I came in this Monday morning.  I flew through the book. It was wonderful.  I loved her "Becoming" book very much so I had high hopes for this one as well.  Michelle is an excellent writer.  I could read about her stories of her mother all day if she ever wanted to just write about her.

Re: NOVEMBER 2022 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

I read Flora's Traveling Christmas Shop by Rebecca Raisen about a Christmas loving woman who loses her job and her housing so she decides to buy a van and open shop out of it at a Christmas Market in Lapland. Cute Story.

I also read Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater by Debbie Johnson. It was about a woman who crashes into a man while they are both riding bicycles and ends up having him live in her home while he recuperates. I think this may be a Hallmark movie too.

In order for things not to become too saccharine I then read Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger. This was more of a slow burning thriller than a fast paced book but it was enjoyable none the less.

A Christmas Spirit, by Debbie Macomber.  Two best friends feel like their life is busier and harder than the other friend's life.  So they decide to switch jobs for one week since both deal with "spirits" so to speak.  One is the owner and bartender of a small town joint.  The other is the Pastor of struggling financially house of the Lord.  Both find out that the other's life may just be harder to do.

I finished The Other Wes Moore, which is good becauseit is for my Book Club! It was a good book, and raises some very interesting questions!!!

I am now reading THE OTHER WIFE by Clare McGowan, so far very good! I had to put The Guilt Trip down for a bit, I just couldn't get into it. I do like the author Sandie Jones, so will pick. it back up eventually.....

Re: NOVEMBER 2022 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

My last two books were somewhat of a disappointment.

Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng.  Even though I sympathised with the 12 year old main character, I never fully connected with this dystopian story.

Racing The Light by Robert Crais.  I've been a fan of Elvis Cole through most of these books, but for some reason, I found the plot in this one just  uninteresting.  It gets 4 and 5 stars on Amazon, so it must be me.

I just started The Measure by Nikki Erlick.  I think I confused this book with a different one, thinking I was not going to read it.  I'm about 25% in and it's very interesting so far.  Curious to see where it goes.

I finished All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.  I enjoyed the book, especially the last 100 pages but not as much as others.  I know it is highly rated.  I found the shifting back and forth a dpbit distracting.  LM
