Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

Well, just to show you that there are a multitude of opinions, I read THE THERAPIST by B. A. Paris yesterday and thought it was great!  Very clever writing, where everyone could be the murderer.  I suspected multiple people.

I also read WE WERE NEVER HERE by Andrea Bartz and WHAT TO DO WHEN SOMEONE DIES by Nicci French.  I thought both thrillers were good.

Haven't read them yet, but I did order The Stranger in the Lifeboat by Mitch Albom and Carpenters The Musical Legacy by Richard Carpenter.  📚

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

@teganslaw wrote:

I'm reading "The Wife Upstairs" by Rachel Hawkins.

It's listed as a modern version of "Jane Eyre." The main character, Jane, walks dogs in an upscale gated communiy in Birmingham, Al. She meets Eddie Rochester, a new resident who has recently lost his wife, Bea, in a boating accident. The two move in together, as Jane tries to fit in with the neighborhood.

However, Jane has past secrets she doesn't want anyone to know about. It seems that Eddie also has secrets, and Jane becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened the day Bea died. Or is she even dead?

This book is very good. Jane isn't a likeable person, but she is interesting. Something strange is going on, but no idea what it is. I just know that things aren't as they appear and I want to know more.

@teganslaw I read this one about 5 or 6 months ago-it was really good!

Just finished The Numbers Game by Danielle Steel.  Typical of her books but still enjoyable.

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

I just finished A. E. Howe's latest book (book 17) of the Larry Macklin mysteries, Valentine's Warning.    This is a very good series based in Florida.  In this book, many of the residents are receiving poison pen letters referring to some crime that the recipient may or may not have committed.  Murders, job promotions, and marriage all take place in this new book.

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

I just finished Charleston Noir (Book 3 of the Nick Janzek Charleston Mysteries) by Tom Turner.  A horrifying incident from the past comes into play with the grisly murders of the perpetrators.  When Detective Nick Janzek gets on the trail of the killer, he almost becomes the next victim.  This was a really good book, but I was hoping for a different ending.
