Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

It seems to be Vanderbilt month. Just started the audible version of Anderson Cooper's new book on his mother's family and will start The First Tycoon - The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt this week which I bought a few months ago.

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

The Girl On The Carpathia, by Eileen Enwright Hodgetts;  a young woman born of privilege but who now after the family fortune is lost works as a governess for a family aboard the Carpathia.   Kate finds herself in the middle of the "who did what and who did not do what they should have," regarding the Titantic.  This is the book after the sinking with the Washington D.C. investigation and keeping Bruce Ismay and the surviving Officers in the Country to testify instead of fleeing back to England.

The Husbands, by Chandler Baker.  Only 100 or so pages in but this is a really good read so far.  Young high powered couple with a four year old child and another due in 6 months looking at a beautiful home in an exclusive subdivision.  All the women/wives are extremely successful as well as the husbands but the husbands do most of the home and children duties.  Stepford Husbands maybe?   We shall see.   It is interesting when Nora starts visiting with the women in a wrongful death case in the neighborhood one woman comments "it would be nice for you to buy here we do not have an attorney yet."

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

I am actually reading two books, but I did put Liar, Liar by James Patterson down for a bit!

Now reading The Surrgogate Mother, by Frieda Mcfadden, it is really really good!!!!! This is my 1st book by this author, but have heard great things, so looking forward to finishing this book, and getting more by her!

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

I had so many library books come in all at once, that I have been reading non-stop!  I haven't read all of these yet, but the ones I have are good reads:

DOWN THE HATCH by M. C. Beaton (Agatha Raisin mysteries)

HEMLOCK by Susan Wittig Albert (China Bayles mysteries)

HOOKED ON A FELINE by Sofie Kelly (Magical Cats mysteries)

GATED PREY by Lee Goldberg (Eve Ronin mysteries)

BEST IN SNOW by David Rosenfelt (Andy Carpenter mysteries)

GOD REST YE, ROYAL GENTLEMEN by Rhys Bowen (Royal Spyness mysteries)

Happy Reading in November, everyone!

Re: NOVEMBER 2021 LET'S HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE READING

Oh William! by Elizabeth Strout

Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen

The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

Five Tuesdays In Winter by Lily King

Well, this is my November reading "wish" list, depending on if I can get them from the library and if I have the time to read them.  The Franzen and Towles books are nearly 600 pages each!
