I have been very busy so I am still reading House of Blood by Mike Lawson. In my defense I have also been reading a book on my Kindle, but I need to pick up the pace and finish House of Blood.

I'm reading the Dale Detective Series by Julia Chapman. I'm currently on #3, and I believe there are 8 books in the series. it's set in a small village in England and centers around a suspended London undercover policeman (who was advised to leave London and stay under the radar) and his unofficial partner in crime solving, who is the younger sister of his childhood best friend and is slowly becoming more than a friend. he has set up a new detective agency in town, she owns a dating service and the two businesses unfortunately share clientele . it's a murder mystery series without the gore.

I'm listening to audiobook "Leaving Time" by Jodi Picoult. I listen to audiobooks while I do things around the house. I just want to be entertained so I am not very picky, so ar it is holding my interest.

Does anyone remember Georgette Heyer, British author? I read most of her books years ago---Regency romances and mysteries. I am rereading the mysteries (earliest were written in the 1930s) and am on the second one Why Shoot a Butler? Cozy mysteries so no brain matter spattered on the walls. Interesting reading about the life styles, manners, etc from so long ago.

Just out of curiosity has anyone here read the series "Flowers in the Attic," By VC Andrews and if so, does it remind you of anyone at the present time and their children, someone famous or infamous, however, you think of them.

I read The Wedding people by Alison Espach which was about a woman who checks into an exclusive hotel with the intention of committing suicide but instead she gets involved with the wedding party who has rented the whole hotel for the entire week.
After that I read My Dad is Funnier Than Your Dad by Kelly Conway which was about growing up with her dad Tim Conway. The last part of the book was about her struggles with her step mother and step sister to help care for her dad in his final years. We only get her point of view so we really don't get an understanding of why they tried to keep her away from him. It was just sad that people fight about the care of someone who they supposedly all love.
Finally, I read If She Wakes by Michael Koryta which was an action packed thriller about several factions trying to get hold of a phone with incriminating information. The phone can only be opened with help from a young woman who was in an accident and suffering from locked in syndrome.

@abbalulu Did you like The Wedding People? I started it and just couldn't get into it. I should go back to it. It's still on the NY Times Best Seller List.
