Today I finished The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand. This was her beach read from last summer. I really liked it and recommend it for anyone looking for a good, but light read. I've been reading a lot of LT Ryan books from Kindle Unlimited that are crime/mysteries. This was a very good break from those. I'm on the list at the library for Hilderbrand's new book titled Swan Song that is to be published next week. I look forward to reading another book set on Nantucket.

After Annie by Anna Quindlen. Quintessential Quindlen. Good story told well. Engaging way to spend a few hours.
Table for Two: Fictions by Amir Towles. Short stories. Just released. I'm on hold at the library for a copy.
Normal Rules Don't Apply by Kate Atkinson. Also short stories. Just picked it up.
The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann. I'm finally getting around to reading this hopefully later this month. Grann wrote Killers of the Flower Moon, which I enjoyed reading.

In addition, I read HOLMES MARPLE & POE by James Patterson and Brian Sitts. Never read Patterson before and may not do so again. Book was formulaic and you could see a movie coming out of it.
I was disappointed in this one-very Blah! I think I had the wrong impression going in. These people had no relation to 'those living or dead.' That's for sure!

I just finished Finding Me by Viola Davis. It was really good, hard to read in a lot of places, but still good. She is a phenomenal actress, and one of my favs ever since I first saw her. She is a good person as well. We were reading this book for our June Book Club.
I am now starting The Ex by Freida McFadden, I know it will be good!!!!!

Have you read any of Nancy Thayer or Mary Alice Monroe books? You would love them both if you enjoy Elin.

@JanetsGirl I've not read Kate Atkinson but so enjoy a good short stories collection. Just put Normal Rules on hold in Libby. Thanks for mentioning. Also, I read Table for Two by Towles in April and it's a wonderful. Mostly short stories and a novella. Happy Reading!

@nwbabs I am a huge fan of Kate Atkinson. I read Normal Rules Don't Apply, an aptly named collection of short stories that are loosely interconnected and very imaginative. I don't usually read short stories, but for Kate Atkinson I made an exception. Be prepared for something a little different. I enjoyed them.
I'll try to get Table For Two.

@nwbabs : Since you enjoy short stories: Have you read any books by Joan Silber? She has written several short story collections and even her novels read more like connected short stories. Her writing style and character development remind me of the works of Shields, Patchett, Anne Tyler, etc. In fact, I stumbled upon Silber when I found a quote by Patchett recommending one of Silber's novels. I very much enjoyed reading Silber's works.
