I read A Murder of Crows by Sarah Yarwood Lovett, the first in the Dr Nell Ward series. Nell is an ecologist who becomes the suspect in a murder. I feel like it's not quite a cosy and I enjoyed the story. Part of it, that I found fascinating, involved Nell's rehabilitation of an injured and rare long eared bat. I think there are three books in this series so far.

I started listening to The Celebrants, but had an Audible issue and ended up listening to Loot by Tania James instead. Some review said Loot was a hoot, and I'm not sure it necessarily fell into that category, but it definitely had some witty turns of phrases that I enjoyed quite a bit. It wasn't, however, IMO, a great book for Audible as it followed many different characters and one needed to be a little more focused. I think I would have enjoyed it more had I read it as I enjoyed what I was able to follow..
I'm now halfway through Ruth Ware's newest and, althogh I don't dislike it, it is making me wonder why I'm so quick to read her books as they come out. Not relying on her usual moody odes to Agatha Christie highlights that she's just an ok writer.

Hello all, I am new to this book club forum - even though I am lover of books in general.
One of the books that is on my summer reading list is THE SHOEMAKERS WIFE by Adriana Trigiani. So far I am enjoying this book. I love books that span generations and are full of details and this one hits those marks perfectly.

I put down One Two Three by Laurie Frankel a few days ago since I couldn't get past page 60. I loved her first book though. Hopefully I'll pick it up again.
Just finished The Light of Eternal Spring by Angel Di Zhang. It was set in China and NYC after she leaves her tiny village at age 17 for NY sand goes back years later. It was a 2 day read and it was an ok read. It was hard for me to review on GR for some reaon which is unusual for me.

I just finished Lie to Her by Melinda Leigh. It's book 6 in her Bree Taggert mystery series. This is an enjoyable police mystery series with the lead character as a female chief of police, This was good and I look forward to reading the next book.
