@roeroe1005 , I loved "Beneath a Scarlet Sky". The other two are on my list. Just finished "The Nightingale", first book I ever read where I cried so much while reading, had to keep kleenex nearby. WWII historical fiction is my favorite.

I also cried when I read The Nightingale.  The Dragonfly and The Alice Network were also very good. I learned about them from this forum, and am very grateful to those of you who have shared information on WWI and WWII historical fiction books.  I have a list I am working on.  I just wish my library had Winds of War. Guess I will have to buy it.

I read it and the sequel and saw the mini-series with Robert Mitchum. Terrific!

Battle Cry, both the book and the movie, is one of my WWII favorites.
