How many books did you read in April?

[ Edited ]

I know that people read differently and have busier lives than I do but I read 12 in April.  My 5 star read was Mad Honey and for a change I had 4 4 star ratings. Most of the books  I read are 3 stars which is an average rating for me.

I think I read all or part of four books. I earned some sort of achievement on Kindle.

@SWEET , that is a lot of reading!  I always have a book on the go.  I usually read about 4-5 a month.  This month it was 4.

I guess I should have mentioned that I'm retired and have no other hobbies!  I usually average a book every 3-4 days and sometimes less depending on my mood and how good the book is.

Re: How many books did you read in April?

@SWEET I'm retired also and spend most of my time reading. Just read the latest Alex Delaware novel yesterday.

How do you get your books?  I belong to my local library but pay for memberships in Queens, Orange Co Fl (the best of the bunch), and Charlotte NC (the county next to me)

I had a 6month subscription to Amazon reading app, but ended up using it mostly to read People Magazine onlin.

Slow month for me trying to catch up on series of Joanne Fluke, I only read 7 this month.

@cindyNC

I used to go to the library before i retired since it was close to my office but then I started going to Little Free Libraries in my area and then found a friend who has one and her husband builds them and now we have had one for a few years.  During the pandemic people started dropping off too and still do. I rely on my LFL mostly and wins on Goodreads and other book groups on FB.

Re: How many books did you read in April?

@cindyNC I borrow mine on Hoopla & LIbby, free library apps.

I have library cards from my local library, but drove to Cincinnat & got a card from the library there.

The Cincinnat library gets more copies of books so it is easier to get them, but their loan period is 14 days & my local library is 21 days.

@SWEET I don't know how many books I read in April, but I always have a book that I am reading, a book that I am listening to & then sometimes an autobiography going at the same time.

And then there are craft books & cook books!

Re: How many books did you read in April?

Great question @SWEET

Just checked my Goodreads and it looks like 6 full-length books and 8 short stories (mostly Amazon Originals when I only have an hour to two). Table for Two by Amor Towles my only 5 star rating.

Happy Reading!

@nwbabs I never heard of Amazon Original short stories. I need to look that up.
