I've found that new release dates are not always accurate because they seem to change. I looked up Elvis Cole, just as an example, and it told me his new book is coming out in June. Both Goodreads and Amazon now say December. I was sure that Goodreads had indicated August at one time. I guess you need to be closer to the actual release date for it to be accurate.
I think publishers move publishing dates back from time to time. The next book in a James Patterson series I like was supposed to be released early this year, but it has been moved to 2018. I notice the same happening with dates of movie DVD releases.
