Years ago I read a book (fiction) about an old trunk that had hidden in it several Faberge eggs. I believe the title was Auction!  I cannot find it or anything about  it any where. I am beginning to believe I imagined it.  I believe the old trunk was found in Vermont.

I found this by Mary Crosby:

In MULTIPLE EXPOSURE, the first book in my new mysteryseries featuring international photojournalist Sophie Medina, two lost imperialFaberge eggs are found in a trunk in an attic in Kent, England. Sophie is hiredto photograph them at a dazzling exhibition at the National Gallery of Art inWashington, D.C. where she also overhears a conversation about a high-profile assassinationplot possibly involving her missing husband.

Thank you for all your help. I am sure the trunk was in Vermont and I read the book maybe 30 years ago. I think the author name was Nan.

@Group 5 minus 1

On Goodreads, you can post requests for help in finding "lost" or "half remembered" books.  Somebody identified one for me that I had read about 30 years ago -- it was historical fiction from the time of Elizabeth Tudor but was not about Elizabeth herself.  I was delighted and amazed at the help other readers offered.  And somebody knew exactly the book I described!

If you can't figure out the right section to post your inquiry, one of the moderators will be glad to help.  (Right now I can't find the link to the place in Historical Fiction where I posted my question.)

Google "Fantastic Fiction". It is a treasure trove of every book title and author in the English speaking language. I bookmarked this site years ago. I can get lost for hours browsing in it.
