For those of you who read romance...

what are you looking for these days that you can't find?  I see a lot of the usual tropes out  that I'm kind of over so I was wondering what's hard to find for you these days.

I've heard a lot of readers wish for older heroines.  I've also heard of family sagas being sorely missed.

Anybody have a wish list that they'd like to see come back or start up?

I like small town romances in a series so you revisit previous characters.

I love the family sagas myself with the supporting characters getting their story in time too.

Re: For those of you who read romance...

Texas Rich, Texas Heat, Texas Fury, Texas Sunrise, by Fern Michaels.  I read these back in the '80's as she wrote them and fell in love with the family from WWII to the late 1980's.  I emailed Fern a few years back and asked if you would consider bringing back the grandchildren (some not yet born) to create new oil sagas in Texas.  No plans to do so.  So I just reread the four books from time to time.  So happy to have them during the shutdown.

Also, emailed Jan Evanovich to see if she would do another spin-off series featuring Stephanie's Grandma Mazur and Joe's Grandma Bella.  Reading adventures of one toting a gun for her weapon of choice and the other using her "evil eye" just seems to be the way to spend an afternoon.  The two together fighting the world of crime and sounds so fun.  Her assistant replied back but no indication of anything planned.  Oh well.

We need to get the family sagas going again then!  I thought there must be more than me pining for them again.  I am about over the usual fare.
