Best books

 

The Ballerinas by Rachel kapalke dale

 

No one talked about this book, but it is set in Paris and follows three girls trying to move up in a ballet company.  I loved the friendship and the setting.

the last thing he told me by Laura Dave 

red lotus by Chris bohjalian

the it girl by Ruth ware

 


The worst book of 2022 for me was Babel by RF Quang, which someone else on this post listed as their favorite.  I thought this was going to be a fantasy, magical sort of book.  The magic is actually not important to the book at all, and there is no worldbuilding.  The book is highly political.  Her main point is that colonialism is bad... and she tells you so over and over again.  I found it incredibly boring.
