I think my favorite has to be Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty.  Not for everyone, but it made me laugh and had my favorite kind of ending where everything is tied up in a bow. Can’t wait for the movie/mini series with Nicole Kidman!

Also enjoyed listening to:

The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn (who didn’t like all those great old movie references?!?)

The Widows of Malabar Hill by Sujata Massey (waiting for book 2!)

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah (probably had the most physical reaction to this book.  Kept me on edge.)

The Word is Murder by Anthony Horowitz

Us Against You by Fredrik Backman

America for Beginners by Leah Franqui

Fruit of the Drunken Tree by Ingrid Rojas Contreras (ended with the true life story of the author.)

And reading Circe by Madeline Miller

Sense and Sensibility Jane Austen Enjoyed the Dashwood sisters. Liked it better than Pride and Prejudice

The Grapes of Wrath. John Steinbeck.

Swan Song Robert McCammon

Where the Crawdads Sing - by Delia Owens.

I read at least a book a week (I'm retired) and this book was the best book I've read all year.

It's just beautiful - the prose and the story.

I was sorry when I finished it.

Hick, I'm #73 on the library list to get Delia Owens' book.

Fortunately (like most of you), I have other things to read while I wait.

Jilly Marie, I appreciate your positive remarks on Curtis Sittenfeld's book of short stories.  I've enjoyed Sittenfeld's previous works--and I love short stories, so I am looking forward to a some great reading time. Going to the library tomorrow.

I think The Outsider by Stephen King should be on this list and Louise Penny’s Kingdom of the Blind.  LM
