I just returned from a wonderful 16 day cruise. I had my Kindle loaded and read 10 books.
Good light, funny reads: The Friend Zone (Abby Jimenez), Life's too Short (Abby Jimenez), Part of Your World (Abby Jimenez), Funny Story (Emily Henry).
Racing the Light by Robert Crais, which I did not really like.
The Teacher by Freida McFadden. I liked this one more than I thought I would. I usually don't like psycholocial thrillers, but as a retired teacher I was intrigued by this one. Highly recommended.
Kindle Unlimited books in series I read: Ripple Effect (LT Ryan), Cold Reckoning (LT Ryan), Field of Bones (LT Ryan), Track Her Down (Melinda Leigh). All were very good mystery/thrillers.
Now I am reading The Mitford Affair by Marie Benedict for my book club meeting on Monday. I do not like reading about Hitler and the Nazis, but if you like historical fiction it might be good for you.

@smoky22 wrote:After reading Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan, I obtained several other of her works. Foster is about a young girl who goes to live with a foster family for a summer. The short story collection called So Late In The Day, Stories of Men and Women has only three entries, and the last one, Antarctica, was quite unexpected. I'm now in the middle of another collection of her short stories called Walk The Blue Fields. There is such poignancy in her works.
I could not agree more with you on Claire Keegan's works @smoky22. I have enjoyed each and every one of her books read. Claire Keegan and Carys Davies (Clear, The Mission House) are both such gifted writers. Cheers!

Finished Ali Bryan's The Crow Valley Karaoke Championships. The title says it all. She's a Canadian author and the book was quirky and cute but with serious undertones too in some places.

I finished listening to Ina Garten's memoir, BE READY WHEN THE LUCK HAPPENS. This was for book club and Ina will be meeting with us via zoom. Would not have read if wasn't for book club - definitely have watched my fair share of her shows and have made a few of her recipes, but I'm not a "super fan". It was fine.
Think my next read will be Reese's pick for the month; seemed like an interesting story with a real life inspiration.

I actually finished two books over the last few weeks.
Fallen by Linda Castillo, Kate Burkholder #13. 4/5 rating.
Three Wishes by Liane Moriarity ( I actually read this book a few years ago, but for some reason felt like reading it again. I really enjoyed it. 5/5 rating.

Read Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen, the first by this author for me. I loved it, full of interesting and fun characters all with their secrets but not anything horrible. "Newcomer Zoey Hennessey is intrigued by her quirky, enigmatic neighbors: a girl on the run, a grieving chef whose comfort food does not comfort him, two estranged middle-aged sisters, and three ghosts. Each with their own story." I'll be searching for more by this author, a fun read.

Finished listening to A Whole Life by Robert Seethaler, an author new to me. Set in an Austrian alpine village from early 1900s to 1970s, the novella follows a young orphan's life from youth until death. Translated from German, the author's writing is simple, tender, and quietly atmospheric. Worth my reading time and worthy of adding another Seethaler's translated work to my library hold list.
Another new author to me, The Cold Cold Ground (Detective Sean Duffy, #1) by Adrian McKinty. Set near Belfast Northern Ireland during The Troubles in early 1980s, a newly assigned detective navigates the political and religious landscape of solving murders amid the turmoil. Overall, I felt a yo-yo effect with this read related to pace and content. So, I'll probably give it a beat before moving to the next installment. Narrator Gerard Doyle is fine and easy listening, as usual.

snowing like crazy so guess I'll settle in front of the fireplace and continue reading THE CRASH by Freda McFadden. Seems just as good as her others!
