Re: FEBRUARY 2021 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

I just loved Kristin Hannah's book FOUR WINDS. It reminded me of The Grapes of Warth.
It will definitely end up being one of my favorites

Re: FEBRUARY 2021 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

I just finished One by One by Ruth Ware. I rated the book 4 out 5 stars on Goodreads, and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised.

I have read two of her other books and I really have not enjoyed them, therefore I had given up on this author. I decided to give this multiple murders book that takes place in a ski Chalet a chance and it was a fast paced enjoyable read.

I truly had no idea who the murderer was until almost the end of the book.

Re: FEBRUARY 2021 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

When it takes me 3 days to get to page 68 of a book and the book is only 225 pages, it's time to go onto another book.  I won Of Salt and Women (ARC) by Gabriela Garcia from Flatiron publishers (it just showed up one day in my mailbox congratulating me).  Don't recall entering it but it might have been on FB.  I always think a book will be interesting but then when I start reading it, like this one, it doesn't come together.  It's supposed to be about a generation of women but it was disjointed to me.

I'm halfway through "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng. It's very good; I can see why others have given it high reviews. I don't have Hulu, so won't be able to see the TV series. I don't know if it would match the book, anyway.

The book was brilliant but I didn't care for the series so imo, you're not missing much. I imagine it'll be available on other platforms like Amazon before too long though.

I just finished reading a wonderful short story collection called The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw.  With short story collections there are usually one or two weak ones, but every story in this book was good.  I think it's going to be on my top 10 best this year!  It's that good.

I was going to place a hold on "The Four Winds", but there are 166 people ahead of me! I decided to wait a while before trying to get it. I could buy it on Amazon, but would rather not.
