Ever Thought about writing a book ?

What would you write about ?  A childrens book ?, your life story ? a fiction or Romance novel ?  What about a cookbook ? Your life during the pandemic?  Get those creative juices flowing !  I started jotting down some notes but I get side tracked and haven't got back to it. It really takes focus and determination,

When I was working, I used to think I could write a book, but everyone would think it was too far fetched to be real. 🤣🤣

I've thought about it a lot, especially in the last three years since I retired. I spent 42 years working in retail, and boy do I have some stories!

I bet you do have plenty of stories to tell !  I was a nurse for 45 years before retiring and I worked in a Hospital setting and for a couple of Insurance companies, some of the things I saw would make one cringe !  I  am actually thinking of writing a children's book, I have a very busy 5 yo grandson and lot's of stories come to mind Woman LOL

@NEvans2 - I'll bet you have some great stories. Maybe you could share some with us occasionally.

@Goodie2shoes   I haven't just thought about it; I'm currently writing my 11th novel and have an outline for a 12th one. I upload my novels to Kindle and write under a pen name. I'm compelled to write them.

Yes - a family history.  Right now the various bits and pieces are in multiple binders full of xerox copies of various paper trail documents.

I started one in the early 90s - lost the entire document when my computer crashed.  Fortunately, I had a print-out - but unfortunately misplaced it.

I found it a couple of months ago when I re-organized my bookcases.

So, maybe some day ....

Re: Ever Thought about writing a book ?

Writing is fun. Everyone should do it. I'll be self-pubbing my latest, short story "Dave's Weird Christmas" in the next month or so. I'll toss it into Amazon's UK Storyteller contest also. I've published 13 novels/short stories and have gotten 66 reader reviews on Goodreads with an average score of 4.3 out of five. My novel "Sara X" was picked up by Jason Chen for a political thriller story bundle back in 2016. "The Campaign" was a semifinalist (then the top fifty of five thousand general fiction entries) in the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and got a glowing review from Publisher's Weekly. Only the top three picks advanced in 2012 so I like to think if finished fourth, but even fiftieth of 5,000 isn't horrible. "The Living Library" is one of my personal favorite short stories that I've written.

I've got about twenty different novels in various stages of development on my computer, so more stories will be coming. If you've got an idea, dust off your computer keyboard and get it out there. There are great writing tools to help you also. Grammarly can be a big help. I tend to be under-hyphenated and over-caffeinated. Grammarly helps with the under-hyphenated part. There's a Kindle plug-in for Word that helps with formatting and other issues. It's never been easier to write a book than it is now. Do it!
