Whew, whew and WHEW!!! I just wanted to B#@%# slap her mom upside the head. Moon Zappa's story is painful, but she has such a sense of humor, and obviously has had years of therapy. She seems healthier mind than she once said she was. And she still is sorting thru the Laundry. I bought the book, but chose to listen to her read it through AUDIBLE. It was a good read, but better listening to her. She takes though her childhood and living with Gail and Frank, they weren't allowed to call them mom or dad, they had to call them by their given name. Her mom endured serial cheating by Frank, which the kids knew about Anyway, it is a good insight into what outsiders might think is a privileged life. Gail and Frank married young, stayed together until death, but the ****** they wrought on the kids, mainly Gail is still stinging.
i recommend the book. Well written, even better read by Moon Unit.
ETA. Corrected omitted letters

Don't know if I'll read the book but it will make a gift for someone I know will read it.
Frank was known as a butt. Don't know about Gail. It's sad that parents treat their children so poorly.

May have to read this. Never really a fan of Frank, mostly remember him for his escapades and the unusual names they gave the kids.

@Puzzle Piece I am sure some one will love it. It is funny, coming to terms with life your are dealt and forgiveness ....and not. puzzle, I think Gail was worse iMO. Frank was a loose screw. He has to be the epitome of the eccentric. His ideas almost put Dali to shame.

@cindyNC Not a fan of his either, and I was a huge fan of the Laurel Canyan music scene. Thankfully the book isn't so much about Frank, although he's referred to a lot.
