Just finished Coast Road by Barbara Delinsky I had read it before years and years ago and loved it. I pulled it off of the bookshelves again recently and fell it love with it all over again.
I, of course, remembered the main plot but had forgotten so much of the story that it was still " new " to me again.
Great book and if I live long enough, someday I will pull it off the shelves and enjoy it again.
Happy reading, all.

It feels like a dear friend has moved away...

Sometimes I wish there would be a continuation, but some authors prefer to write stand alone novels.

Funny thing....after I read your post, the book title Coast Road brought back such a warm feeling. I knew I had read the book and went on to read more by Barbara Delinsky.
I may not reread the book(s), but I remember enjoying them. And yes, as one poster said " It's like having a good friend move away." ( @We rescue cats )

I haven't felt that way since I read the If I Run series by Terri Blackstock.

Thanks to all for mentioning their favorites. I love to have recommendations and add them to my tags in Libby. Up to 92 books on my list now, so I have to reading 🤣

I may be the exception here because I enjoy it when a book ends. If it was good, I'll go back and read it again to pick up on things I missed the first time through. There are often character development elements, hints to the plot, and other stuff you may overlook in a first read-through that jump out when you reread it. "Oh, that's why he said/did that!"
Authors often plant seeds and it's easy to overlook them when you don't know where the story is going. Things that seemed insignificant suddenly jump out and make more sense in the reread. You can pick up a lot of things you missed the first time through.
