I tried the Paperwhite when it came out, but returned it. I didn't like the shadowy screen and lag time on page turns. My Kindle Keyboard still performs flawlessly, but hubby was annoyed with my book light. I purchased the Voyage and I LOVE it! I use the side buttons for page turns. You won't regret the purchase, even at full price.

I am so glad I read these posts!  I have a Kindle Keyboard 3g  from 2009, so I figure I am on borrowed time.  I looked at Voyager and Paperwhite last holiday season and had decided when I upgrade I would go to Paperwhite.  Now after reading these comments, I need to look again at Voyager features. Adaptive lighting sounds important.  I love my Kindle Keyboard, but my husband sometimes complains about the click, click page turning sound when I stay up reading in bed, lol!

Now I am wondering who makes Voyager and if it is compatible with my library which is a consideration for me.  Off I go to look.

Amazon makes a very good e-reader. You may want a built in light, but you may not need 3G service.

@Sooner, I got my Voyage on sale. I wanted to buy on on Amazon Prime day, but that was mostly a bust with the Paperwhite on sale, but not the Voyage. Shortly thereafter, I logged into Amazon and the banner said that "Today only!" the Kindle Voyage was on sale for $149 instead of $199 AND they even had an installment plan where you could buy it with 5 monthly payments. I'd never seen that before and I haven't seen it again since. I bought mine that day and got one for my father at full pice several months later.
