DECEMBER 2022 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

[ Edited ]

Well we are in the last month of the year. Hopefully, we can all finish strong. I am slowly reading The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham. It's an excellent book, but it's that time of year when I am like others very busy. I apologize for the no paragraph breaks but the QVC website will not allow me to post this new message any other way. I found this solution on another thread discussion about the problem. I will fix once the website recovers.

@icezeus, welcome to December 2022. We are reading the same book The Boys from Biloxi/John Grisham. I am about 100 pages into the Grisham book.

This book is a sharp contrast to the book Mad Honey by Jodi Piccoult. Having read this book, which is rich in character development, I can now say I am a fan of Piccoult. The book is described as 'stirring' in reviews and it is. If readers haven't read it already, I recommend it. Check out storyline on Goodreads (which at one time I could copy and paste here but no more). For fear of spoilers, I will say no more. LM

I am currently close to the end of The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. I am loving it and the story about women code breakers in England during WWII.

I have also read Mad Honey by Jodi Piccoult and loved it as well. I am not always a fan of her books and pick and choose, but I found this one to be very engrossing.

@hgsuddle@Lilysmom1

Her books are hit or miss for me as well. I have heard a few people speak well of her latest one.

I just finished reading The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki. Very well written fiction based on true life of Marjorie Post of Post Cereal Family/General Foods. Interesting! I would read other books by this author.

Next up....The Queen.

I read Boys from Biloxie a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. Always like Grisham's books. Mad Honey by Jody Picoult was good also. I agree that her books are hit or miss. I have enjoyed some of them and others not so much.

I just finished Death on a Winter Stroll by Francine Mathews. It is about a woman Police Chief on Nantucket Island and the Secretary of State visiting and a TV production is also being made there and naturally a murder. I found this book in the New Fiction area at the library on took a chance on it as it was an unfamiliar author to me. It is part of a series and is the most recent book in the series.

@walker@ I also enjoyed the Magnificant Life of Marjorie Post

@hgsuddleI am going to take your suggestion and read The Rose Code, sounds like my kind of book. Have you read Switchboard Soldiers by Jennifer Chiaverini? Is is also about women helping with the war effort and was very engrossing.

I have just started Hunting Time by Jeffery Deaver. I always enjoy his books. And I have The Zero Night by Brian Freeman next on pile to read
