Checking out library e-books on a Nook?

I have a Nook Simple Touch (very old) and was thinking about getting a Nook Glowlight 4. How do you check e-books out of the library and get them on the Nook? I used to have to hook my Nook up to my computer via USB cable and transfer the book that way. I haven't done this in quite a few years now and was wondering if that procedure has changed.

I also have a Kindle Paperwhite and that process for checking an e-book out from the library is very simple. Just click and send.

I really enjoyed my Nook Simple Touch and its dimensions (as well as page turn buttons). I also like my Paperwhite, but the dimensions are different than the Nook. My Nook still works fine, but I would like to have a Nook with a backlight like the Glowlight 4 has.

Thanks for reading and thanks for any info.

Re: Checking out library e-books on a Nook?

i would ask at the library or google it. If nook comes from barnes and noble, they should be able to help too. I read my ebooks, from the library, on my amazon fire tablet. It's hard to go back to a reg. book.
