Books that Impressed

[ Edited ]

What books have you read that made a lasting impression on you?  I am thinking of books I have read through the years.  Not too many current books (although I enjoy reading them) have made the same impact on me as these oldies but goodies:

Dear and Glorious Physician by Taylor Caldwell

Back Street by Fannie Hurst

Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford

Valley of Decision by Marcia Davenport

Atlas Shrugged by Ann Rynd

and of course as a child The Nancy Drew Series!

Edited to add Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.

For me it had to be Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer.

I so agree - I loved that terrific book!  Another one for me is The Book Thief.

@Shelbelle  Yes, I read that book also and enjoyed it.  That was the first book I read by Jeffrey Archer and have read a couple since.

Excellent book. That ending....

I did not know that there was a followup called "The Prodigal Daughter", I will add this book to the never shrinking TBR list.
