I recommend the mystery series by William Kent Krueger, Julia Spencer-Fleming and P.J. Tracy. All of them are compelling enough to keep you reading. Great characters and not too gory.

I agree with the watch TV, any kind of movies you like.
Mystery authors I enjoy are Donna Andrews, a little comedy in those, JD Robb, Louise Penny, Michael Connelly. Can’t think of anymore at the moment.

I read the entire Will Robie series by David Baldacci, and with the exception of the 3rd book which dragged a little, it was a fast paced mystery/spy type series. I also feel like the NYPD series by Patterson is another quick read sort of series. If you like mysteries I would encourage you to think about some older books, like the Hercule Poirot of Jane Marple mysteries by Agatha Christie. Feel better soon!
