Re: Are you still buying books or have you replaced them with a KINDLE?

Most of the books I read come from the library. Books I buy are usually used.

Although I own a Nook, I don't really enjoy using it.

I have never even tried an electronic type for reading.  Even when my Mom had one I did not even sample it.  She tried to buy me one but I said no I am hard bound book in hand old school type person.

Re: Are you still buying books or have you replaced them with a KINDLE?

I can't remember the last time I bought a paper book.

I love my local library!!! It's great. I get excellent recommendations on this site or elsewhere and go straight to the library website to put it on hold. I still enjoy getting paper books from them. However, when I go on trips, I do download books to my kindle and or Nook to take that versus several heavy paper books.

I do feel bad that I don't buy more books since I love reading and want great authors to keep writing! But I'm trying to curb unnecessary buying so buying books was first to go.

I was so resistant to trying an e-reader.  Now, other than my craft books, there’s no going back to the printed page for me.

@bonnielu, an interesting question.  I am totally ereader now.  I don’t buy paper books except for an America’s Test Kitchen Cookbook recently.  I can tell you that it is now hard to find good quality bookcases.  People don’t seem to buy books like they used to.

I find the ereader much more user friendly.  Nothing like going on a trip with 200 books in your handbag.

My only complaint is that I was never good at remembering book titles and now I am even worse.  Small price to pay for me.  I simply check Goodreads  for the storyline which feels me yes or no.  LM

PS, other than a small library in my guest room, I don’t have any books left. I gifted my books to a woman who was my housekeeper for years when I worked.  Although it’s been years since she worked for me, I see her every Christmas with a food and book gift.  She will be turning 90 this year and is sharp as a tack.

That’s been a problem for me, too, with reading electronically.

I couldn't live without my kindle but I still like to curl up with a good book, a blanket, and my cat, on a cold aumtmn or winter day. Somehow it's just not the same with a kindle.

Re: Are you still buying books or have you replaced them with a KINDLE?

I love my mini IPad for reading.  I still read sometimes on the Kindle but for me the Mini is the greatest!

I read e-books on Kindle/Mini that I wouldn't want to keep and store:  Novels, self help, instructional, etc.

I do buy some cookbooks, decorating books, and other coffee-table books because they are beautiful.  Books on the founding fathers and history we usually buy as books, but just novels?  Nope.  Never buy as books now.   Too much to store and pick through to get rid of.
