After reading Spare, do you think Charles actually loved his sons?

After reading Spare, do you think Charles actually loved his sons?

I'm using the past tense of love because I want to know what you think about Charles' feelings over time.

I think Charles did and does love both of his boys. This is Meghan's err I mean Harry's version.

I haven't read Spare and have no plans to, however, I have felt for some time that the marriage to Diana was more of a business deal.

Everyone has their own way of showing love. If styles don't match, it feels like there's no love there when in actuality there is (read The 5 Love Languages to understand this). To question a person's love after reading a book by someone who feels slighted is kinda low.

There is no doubt in my mind that Charles has and does loves his sons deeply!

I bought the book when it first came out but having trouble staying focused.

Maybe I'll finish it one day.

Charles comes from a different era.  Today a parent has to hug their kids constantly and tell them that they love them everyday.  I do think that he loves his sons.  There are some needy people, like Harry, that will always feel slighted by their parents.

I have "Spare". I think it's a decent read. I know many people don't like Harry and Meghan, but I wanted to make my own decision after reading the book. Do I think the Charles loves his children? I do, but he sure had nothing but distain for Diana. That marriage should've never happened.

I think his disdain for Diana could have been because she did not go along with the marriage of convenience.  He probably thought that she understood the marriage was more a business deal than true love.  It was obvious that she thought otherwise.

I get that, but she was young and optimistic. What bride wants to think her husband is having an ongoing affair throughout their courtship and marriage.
