I just finished "Inside Threat" by Matthew Quirk. It is a political thriller.
Now reading "Sleepless City" by Reed Coleman, a NYC Detective Nick Ryan thriller.
@icezeus I like J. A Jance's series about Sheriff Joanna Brady. Have the latest on reserve at the library "Blessing of the Lost Girls"
@roeroe1005 I have read all of Laura Lippman's books. Have the latest "Prom Mom" on reserve.

The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner was a family drama about a wedding that is taking place in a family beach home before the matriarch of the family sells the property.
Book Lovers by Emily Henry was a story about two sisters who spend a month together in Sunshine Falls which was the setting of a book that one of the sisters was the literary agent for. It is a light romance.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid which was about a woman who was asked to write a biography of a Hollywood star who had seven husbands and how their stories tie together.

THE KITCHEN HOUSE by Kathleen Grissom. Lately, I have been listening to books, rather than reading. The story and characters kept me interested. I will probably seek out the sequel.
Next up is Anne Tyler's A SPOOL OF BLUE THREAD.

Have you read J.A. Jance's Ali Reynolds series? I am a few books from finishing, which is why I decided to check out one of her other series.

@icezeus I have read some of the Ali Reynolds and the Beauman series. I can get interested in them but I don't enjoy them nearly as much as the Joanna Brady series. That is the series I always look forward to a new book and she doesn't write as many of Brady as she does the others.

I haven't posted in a while. Here's what I've been reading:
A Cast of Falcons (Sarah Yarwood-Lovett) the second in the Nell Ward, ecologist, series. In this one, Nell is hosting the wedding of her best friend and naturally there's a murder.
Famous In a Small Town (Viola Shipman) is a sweet story of new beginnings featuring a beautiful Michigan location.
Good Night, Irene (Luis Alberto Urrea) based on the experiences of the author's grandmother when she joined the Red Cross during World War 2. I made it to 30% before I decided It was just not that interesting to me.
The Collective (Allison Gaylin) about a grieving mother who connects with a secret organization of women who take matters into their own hands when they feel the deaths of their children did not receive the justice they should have. I have mixed feelings about this one.
Banyan Moon (Thao Thai) about three generations of Vietnamese American Women, each getting their own chapters. It was basically a story of a dysfunctional family. The book has a little bit of a Southern Gothic vibe. The present day story is set in a run down old mansion in Florida with a huge Banyan tree in the yard. I think the author wanted the setting to be part of the story and it seemed irrelevant to me. Despite the very high ratings for this book, a lot of the story came across as forced.

Just finished a book called The Wife Inside by Winter K. Willis. Not one I would recommend. I thought the ending was lame.

I'll just say the sequel isn't as good.

I am 2/3rds through Everyone Here is Lying by Shari Lapena. @CANDLEQUEEN , if you haven't read it already, you would like this one. I am still trying to figure out who did it!
