I finished Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty yesterday.  It took me a month and awhile to get into it and I actually stopped reading it at one point for about 2 weeks.  Anyway I ended up really loving it.

I am so glad you kept at it.  I did read it in about 3 days and really liked it.

@beckyb1012 Thanks!  I didn't care for Cherry at first and thought there were just too many points of view.  But I ended up loving her.  And the POVs decreased as it went on.  So glad I stuck it out lol.

Shear Murder is #10 in this series by Nancy J. Cohen.  I've read a few of them and they are a good light mystery.  Marla is a hairdresser in Florida and she's attending her friends wedding.  Her friend's sister is murdered.

Re: APRIL 2025 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

Maybe I'm in a book slump.

I read This Girl's A Killer by Emma C. Wells.  She only kills bad men, lol.  There are also funny parts.  My main problem with the book is that the  main character (33 yrs old) seems too juvenile.  And despite the subject matter, it also felt a little YA.

Beautiful Ugly by  Alice Feeney.  I have liked a couple of her books, but the twists in this one felt too contrived.

Three Days in June by Anne Tyler, about a mother of the bride on the day before her daughter's wedding, the day of the wedding, and the day after the wedding.  It's as ordinary as I'm making it sound.  The main character was annoying.

Re: APRIL 2025 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

I finished listening to SUNRISE ON THE REAPING by Suzanne Collins. A Hunger Games book, focusing on Haymitch Abernathy's games - the Second Quarter Quell (24 years before Katniss volunteers as tribute). Obviously, you are only reading this if you liked the Hunger Games and it is a worthy addition to the story. You know how it ends (spoiler - Haymitch wins), but you are still drawn into the other characters and pull for them. Some familiar names.I did have a quibble, but that would arguably be a (real) spoiler.

After Haymitch's story, I needed something a little more lighthearted. Luckily Grandma Vera is on another case!

Happy April All! This past week's audiobooks...

April Fool's Day started with a dud (DNF at 45%), Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan. A patron commits suicide in a Denver, Colorado bookstore and a store employee tries to unravel inherited clues.

The Widow's Husband's Secret Lies (A Satirical Novella) by Freida McFadden. The usual McFadden twists and turns.

Continued books in two different Crime Detective series....

Split Image (Jesse Stone #9) by Robert B. Parker.

Dirt (Stone Barrington #2) by Stuart Woods.

Have a great reading week!

Re: APRIL 2025 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

Today I finished Lethal Prey by John Sandford.  It was VERY good and I highly recommend it.  Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers were together again investigating a 20 year old cold case that was re-opened because a five million dollar reward was offered.  It was interesting that true-crime websites and bloggers were used to help with the investigation.  I liked that the setting was Minnesota again, Weather and Frankie were involved again, and the old chemistry seemed back again.

Re: APRIL 2025 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY

[ Edited ]

Thanks @icezeus  for this month's thread. Smiley Happy  I always enjoy reading everyone's suggestions.

I am currently listening to Colleen Hoover's, Reminders of Him. Just when I think I know how I feel about something going on in the book, I have to rethink my opinion. I am enjoying it very much. Smiley Happy  I recommend this book.

Can't Stop Loving You, Miranda Liasson. The themes of doing what your family wants  for you, questioning your choices, loving someone you've been through so much with, and figuring it out for yourself are all in this book. I recommend this book. Smiley Happy

Kristin Harper, The Secret of Ruby's Lighthouse. This book was part of a series. I've read all the standalone books in this series.  It was an enjoyable, Hallmark kinda  read. Smiley Happy

Must Love Flowers, Debbie Macomber.  This was a light read.  It was adorable, typical Macomber.  Smiley Happy

The Favorites, Layne Fargo.  This book was a yes for me because it took place in the world of ice dancing.  I love ice dancing. It is the one discipline, in the ice skating world,  I make it a point to watch when it's on tv.  I enjoyed this very much, the ups and downs, twists and turns.  I recommend it. Smiley Happy

The Shack, Joanne DeMaio. It's the new fabulous book in a series.  It's like meeting old friends and visiting again. Two more in this series are coming out this summer. I always recommend her books. Smiley Happy

A Love Letter to Whiskey, Kandi Steiner. This book was not what I expected but in a good way. lol  It took twists and turns I didn't expect.   I don't want to say too much for fear of giving something away. I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I recommend it. Smiley Happy

To Sicily with Love, Jennifer Probst.  I was drawn to this book because of the beautiful cover.   The themes of questioning what you want in life, if what you're doing right now is working for you, and who you want in your life, got me thinking about my choices in my younger years.  I recommend this book. Smiley Happy

I hope you all have a good rest of the month. Smiley Happy
