Just got an Amazon Kindle email and one of the titles is:

50 Masterpieces You Have to Read Before You Die.  10,846 Pages!

It got my attention and I clicked to take a look.  It's volume 4 of a series.   Authors are in alphabetical order.    So, I looked for volume 1.   Figured I might as well start at the beginnng!  Smiley Wink

Volume 1 is 22,404 pages .... and only cost 49 cents!

I down loaded it to my #3 Kindle, and as soon as I recharge my original old style Kindle - I'll move it over to there.  I "store" my extra books there.

So - for you avid readers out there who have a Kindle or Kindle app ... check it out.

Fine, but I don't think I have that much time left.

I've read a few of the Masterpieces; some are great, others not so much.  A few of my favorites: Great Expectations; Jane Eyre; Pride and Prejudice; H.P Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe.

How could they leave out John Steinbeck? Love his writing.

Also good but not listed: Thomas Hardy, "Far from the Madding Crowd", "Sense and Sensibility." Edgar Lee Masters "Spoon River Anthology."

Maybe he'll be in one of the future volumes.  They've only compiled 4 volumes so far.
