The Roe Baby Shower and Gender Reveal

Three years ago, it was Alice's bridal shower, but this time, it was her BABY shower, entitled "Twice the Joy" since she's expecting twins!  It was the day it really sunk in that I am going to be a grandmother for the first time!

We had good food, good friends, and all 3 of my sisters flew in from MN as well as 4 of my nieces and  my mom's best friend from San Diego.

The twin theme was everywhere...even down to two little duckies in the flower centerpiece.

The biggest surprise for Alice, however, was her mum, Lisa, flying in for the shower from London, where Alice grew up.

Here are Alice, her mother and me during the fun

As people arrived in the unusual 55 degree gorgeous weather in January, they each voted on whether they thought she's having 2 girls, 2 boys or one of each.

What would you have guessed?

The big reveal happened later during the shower.

We didn't play games, because ladies always groan when you mention 'games'.  Instead, I interviewed Alice and her mum, so everyone could get to know them better.  When asked if there are twins in their family, Alice and Lisa said 'no', but Lisa said that her mum was adopted, so they're not completely sure about past generations.

After that, Alice pulled out two little teddy bears from a gift bag to reveal the sexes of the twins - both were blue!  She's having 2 boys!

Since I had 3 boys myself, I feel very comfortable being a 'Mimi' to 2 grandsons!

Now that you know it's 2 boys, I can show you a few of our desserts - because they were all blue themed!

Although these look like cake pops - they were actually "truffle pops"!  Yummy!

I was thrilled that many of my QVC friends were able to come as well.

Lots of my host friends and on the end - Kathy Gendel - our Breezies expert

Now we will spend the next couple of months putting cribs together, washing baby clothes, assembling baby equipment, and trying to rest up before the two new Roe boys arrive!  So exciting!!

Blessings,
