The Basics: How to Make Pan Roasted Salmon

Pan Roasted Salmon

Serves 2

 

Ingredients:

2 (5-ounce) salmon fillets

salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

olive oil

lemon

fresh herbs (chives, tarragon, parsley, thyme)

 

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 400˚ F.
  2. Pre-heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and season the salmon with salt and pepper. Add a little olive oil to the skillet and then place the salmon in the pan, presentation side down. Sear for 2 minutes on each side and then transfer the skillet to the oven for 6 or 7 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
  3. Remove the salmon to a plate and serve with a squeeze of lemon and your choice of fresh herbs.
