Hey gals! I love this time of the year for so many reasons. Warm weather, outdoor activities, and fun fashion! This time of the year it’s all about colors, trends, and making a statement with your wardrobe – no jacket necessary!
A couple of weeks ago I decided to hit the city of Philadelphia with my girl Jessie. Jessie is a fashion blogger and newest member of the LOGO by Lori Goldstein team. Jessie and I did some trend spotting in one of the most happening places of Philadelphia – Rittenhouse Park. In general we saw a lot of the boho chic look, a lot of bright colors, and one of the hottest trends in fashion right now – hem lines! Now it’s time to break down these trends!
Hemlines:
Let’s talk hemlines! Hemlines and layering go together like peanut butter and jelly, and we saw a lot of these two trends working well together in Rittenhouse. From shark bites, to high-lows, and even asymmetrical – hemlines are the coolest way to add edge and an extra style to your everyday look. What I love so much about this hemline trend is how easy it is to go from day to night. The fun hemlines in skirts, tops, and dresses gives us the advantage of looking sophisticated, edgy, and chic without even trying! You can think of the asymmetrical hemline and shark bite look as a special dose of feminine flair compared the boyfriend, boxy look that has been extra popular over the last couple of years!

Bright Colors:
Lori Goldstein and Isaac Mizrahi have been preaching to us about color for years! These fashion experts are right and bright color is officially the new black. What I love the most about this hot trend we saw so much, is the fact that wearing bright colors isn’t left up to the fashion risk takers of the world – everyone is doing it! We’re seeing a lot of plush purples and blues with a mix of fun yellows & pinks! Here are some ideas for bright color inspiration:

Mix and match your bright color separates and try layering with a fun graphic tee or button-up collared shirt underneath.
If you’re looking for a more wearable way to rock bright colors try pairing it with a neutral to ground your look a bit more. Maybe a black or white tank or a white ankle pants/black leggings!

Accessorize in Yellow! Use yellow to add a pop of color. If you are going for a more edgy look think about adding yellow pumps to a black ensemble, or for a pretty pastel “brunch with the gals” outfit, try mixing in a pale yellow with a powdery blue.

Layer brights and neutrals – Just like I mentioned before about mixing bright colors with a neutral grounding piece, you can do this same thing with your layering. I learned to layer with color from Lori Goldstein who loves to make a pink pop by throwing on a white tank underneath or the other way around – layer a neutral over a trending hot color to bring new life to your staples.

Boho Chic:
I think everyone has their own definition for what Boho Chic looks like. To me, I say Boho chic is fun outfit with bohemian edge that just looks so simple. What I love about this trend is how natural everything comes together – as if it was just second nature to look so darn cool! With this trend you’ll see a lot of tribal-like patterns, a lot of maxi dresses/skirts, flowy tops and bottoms, some sheers, and lots of layering.
