My travels brought me through the Knockmealdown Mountains in county Tipperary the other day ; it was bright and a lovely sunny day.
In the distance I could see a sheep standing in the roadway, and as I approached I slowed to a halt ( as you can on these roads ) and thought it would make a nice photo.
Having snapped the obliging sheep, I went to drive on , but the sheep was not for budging an inch. Getting nearer I decided to stop to get an even closer photo - and still the stubborn sheep did not move out of my way.
For fun I tooted the horn; the sheep simply looked back as if to say ' hey pal, this is MY road, it not like it’s a highway '.
So, I had to drive around the sheep so I could go on my way…. traffic Chaos ? … not a chance ; this is the beauty of hidden Ireland, where sheep can roam in peace on the ' long acre' by the deserted roadways.
