SEPHORA by OPI at QVC!

by on ‎02-10-2011 05:19 PM

Originally available only to pros, OPI has long been one of the most-requested nail polishes at salons from coast to coast. Season after season, fashion forecasters keep a close eye on the brand’s cleverly named collections, because if OPI says it’s going to be big, you can pretty much count on it.

Savvy Sephora has partnered with OPI to create a collection of long-lasting, chip-resistant nail lacquers free of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde, and housed in ergonomically designed bottles. Until recently, the colors have been available at just one place: Sephora. Now that the line has landed at QVC, it’s carried by an exclusive club of two.

On next Monday’s PM Style with Lisa Robertson, SEPHORA by OPI will premiere with the limited-edition Urban Ballerina collection — the chicest season-spanning set of four mini polishes, which comes bundled with full-size bottles of salon-quality top coat and base coat. I love the petite quartet of opaque colors because it’s part edgy, part elegant; flattering on all skin tones; and offers a perfect opportunity to experiment with trends.

There’s Leotard-Optional, an opaque mocha beige; The Way Tutu His Heart, an opaque light “ballet” pink; Who’s Spinning Tonight?, a metallic true grape (huge for fall and continuing to be popular for spring); and Break a Leg-Warmer!, a charcoal gray (the new neutral).

SEPHORA by OPI is partnering with QVC for Fashion Week, so look closely at the models during our shows on February 11 and 12 to see how beautifully these colors complete their looks.

There’s plenty more to look forward to from the line in the future, including Chic Prints, innovative design appliqués crafted in conjunction with the brand Minx. You may have noticed Minx prints popping up on celebrities, and now this avant-garde accessory is accessible to everyone. The patterned, metallic pre-cut strips in Pink Fishnet or Chrome Lace (see below) can be cut to fit any nail for what is sure to be a conversation-starting mani or pedi. Technique is key — you’ll want to apply the chic print to the bed of the nail first, then push out toward the tip of the nail for a smooth finish. Applied properly with the included top coat and crystal file, they’ll last for one or two days. It’s a fun way to shake up your look for a special occasion…or just because.
