Refinishing Old Furniture

by on ‎12-14-2016 10:53 AM

For Christmas Chelsea wanted to surprise Lauren with a new dinning set.  Dining sets can be a bit pricey so she set out to find some pieces that she could refinish.  She didn't find a table at the salvage yard, but she was able to get a good deal on a new one and decided to give new life to some old chairs.

To keep the surprise she had to get some help from my sister, Cathy, to store, and transport the chairs.  (Cathy ended up doing more than that #bestauntever). We removed the backs and seats, removed the old fabric, (which had more staples than any chairs should), cleaned and sanded the wood, did 2 coat's of paint, added new foam padding, batting and fabric to the seats.

The table was delivered last week while Lauren was at work. Cathy delivered the chairs and Chelsea went to work decorating. Lauren was so excited!! The table looks great in the space.

I love restoring old pieces. It was so much fun working together with my family on this project.  Team work makes the dream work!
