QStar Awards…

by on ‎02-02-2012 05:10 PM

Hi everyone,

If you have not yet heard, I was nominated for QVC’s QStar Award for Guest Excellence.  I am also excited to announce that Quacker Factory was nominated for an award in the new category of Customer Favorite!!  After such a tough year last year, with losing Jeanne and Lee, it was a bright light in our world to have been nominated for two prestigious awards.

I am very excited to share with you that I did indeed win the award in my category!!!!  Everyone kept asking me what the awards ceremony was going to be like, what I received as my award, etc.  I have to tell you that I truly did not know any details until the evening of the event!!

I started stressing about what I was going to wear, and I ended up ordering nine dresses to see which one was appropriate.  I really don’t know how celebrities do this all the time for all of their red carpet events!!  It was challenging, to say the least!!

Last Tuesday, I had a photo shoot for this award.  My photograph, as well as the other winners, will go on QVC’s Wall of Fame for a year until the next round of winners has been determined.  I wore one of my favorite Quacker sweaters, the Animal Print Cardigan (A216562), in Chocolate and my Chocolate "DreamJeannes" (A210141) for the shoot.  I was jumping around, laughing, and smiling.  I think we got a lot of great shots.

Last Wednesday, I decided I was going to take it easy so I would be relaxed for the QStar event.  I had a great workout in the morning, then I just kind of got myself revved up for the evening.  My friend Adrienne, who is a fabulous makeup and hair artist, offered to style my hair for the event.  She even gave me false eyelashes so my eyes would POP.  I felt like a movie star.

I arrived to the event fashionably late, but I was greeted by happy faces and was then immediately escorted to my table for the start of the ceremony.  There was not an empty seat in the Atrium.  As I looked around, I realized that this was an exclusive VIP invitation, and I really felt like such a big-wig.  Rick and Susan from our team were there to support me, and Rick accepted the award for Quacker Factory.  As the evening progressed, he leaned over to me and said, “I can’t believe you are so calm.”  That is what it may have looked like on the outside, but on the inside I felt like the circus was running around inside of my stomach!!  As the evening continued, I got more and more nervous.  Many awards were presented before I was to go up to the podium, and, as I watched everyone accept their awards, they all looked so calm and collected – which made me even more nervous!!  I know I am on television all the time, but I rarely have an audience looking at me.  It is much easier to look at a bunch of cameras then faces!!!

I was so privileged to sit between two top-level QVC executives. They were both so incredible.  They realized I was nervous and kept encouraging me, saying that I would be great.  When it was time, they called me up onto the podium and said some really wonderful things about me.  Then I was given the microphone.  To tell you the truth, I do not remember much of what I said, only that I was very grateful for the support from everyone at QVC as well as the viewers.  I was so thrilled and overwhelmed by the nomination as well as receiving the award.  I am truly blessed, and I know that Jeanne is watching over me and everyone at Quacker Factory. WOW — I really felt like a STAR!

Changing topics now…I am excited for the rest of this week!!!  I was in QVC® This Morning today, Thursday, February 2nd, from 7-9 a.m. ET where I presented our Quacker Factory Long Sleeve Knit Cardigan w/Sequin Pockets (A202601), and then I have a two-hour show from 4-6 p.m. ET with Leah Williams!!  We always have such a blast when we work together — watch out!!  I will also be joining Leah again  for AM Style® on Saturday, February 4th for the return of the “DreamJeannes,” and we have two new colors to add for you this month with MORE colors coming later this spring!!  I know you girls love those!!

Also this Saturday, we will have a Live Audience show from 2-3 p.m. ET with Mary Beth Roe for NATIONAL QUACKER DAY!!!  I am so excited for this show!!  Jeanne and Tim worked tirelessly to make February 4th a day to commemorate Quacker Factory and the Quackers, and we all get to celebrate it together!!  It is also the anniversary of my debut as part of the on-air Quacker Team, so this day holds a very special place in my heart.

Thank you all for your support and for your kind comments regarding my award!!  I will bring it with me for the shows this week so I can share it with all of you!

Until next time, Live Long and SPARKLE!!
