Please Join me in Welcoming Lena McIlwain!

Hi everyone!

As I celebrate my 22nd year at QVC, I have some very exciting news to share with you! I have been fortunate enough to be able to hire Lena McIlwain to join the Dennis Basso team.  You might remember Lena when she was a QVC show host about 10 years ago.  I had the good fortune to be able to work with her on several occasions. She is such a bright, intelligent woman who has wonderful fashion knowledge. Not to mention, a very beautiful person on the inside and out. Having her join the Basso team seemed like a natural fit for both of us.

 

As I travel the world for inspiration and visit my various factories, along with my couture business on Madison Ave, and major outposts around the world, it was inevitable that I might need a little on-air help! Lena is the perfect choice!  She clearly understands the Basso woman, which she is herself, and understands my aesthetic on how a woman should dress and shop. Now, don’t think you’re losing me! Lena will be there to help me, sometimes answering questions on Facebook and appearing for me when my schedule doesn’t permit it. In actuality, with Lena on the team, you will be able to get even a little more ‘Basso’ into your life.

I have been working with her behind the scenes on the Fall collection that I designed so that she has a complete understanding of all the fashion designs and, of course, my Dennis Basso Home Collection. I think together, we will prove to be exciting and entertaining. I look forward to our long relationship together and welcome her to my company! I know that you will enjoy watching Lena and I together on-air.

Hi Everyone!

I wish you could see the way I swirled, danced, and jumped for joy when I found out that I would be working with Dennis Basso!! To say I am absolutely thrilled is an understatement. This is my dream come true!

 

Dennis and I met 15 years ago on the QVC fashion set. It was instant admiration. Dennis is captivating. He’s one of a kind, a brilliant designer, a dynamic personality, a fun-loving friend to every woman who loves fine fashion.  As a new QVC show host the first time I wrapped myself in one of Dennis’ luxurious faux furs, I was hooked. I felt so chic, glamorous, red carpet ready! What an amazing confidence-booster!  It was magical.

 

I love Dennis, because he is the master of glitz. His couture designs are truly transformative. He knows what makes us look and FEEL FABULOUS!! His impeccable sense of style and his meticulous attention to detail speaks to a woman’s inner Diva. His collection exemplifies everything my mother ever taught me about dressing to express and impress.

 

As a young, divorced mother of two, my fashion-loving mom didn’t have a lot of money, but she had tons of talent.  A saleswoman by day, but a seamstress at heart! Sewing was her passion. I vividly remember trips to the fabric store.  While my brother and I looked through large McCall, Butterick, and Simplicity catalogues, my mother spent hours searching for the perfect bolts of fabric.  Back home, I enjoyed watching her spend hours laboring over her Singer Sewing machine making the most fanciful, fun creations.  Mom took great pride in making bold, beautiful outfits.

I inherited her creativity and her love for all things girlie; hair, make-up, accessories, and beautifully tailored clothing.

 

This opportunity to work with Dennis is a perfect culmination of all that I have learned and loved.

 

As a wife and mother of three, I, like so many other moms live an extremely busy life. Getting dressed every day is fundamental yet so important. It is the single most impactful way we silently speak to the world and express who we are and who we want to be. With Dennis Basso Fashion, every woman, every lifestyle, it’s easy to look your very best!!

 

My mother always taught me to Dream Big! The chance to work with Dennis is that dream realized! I am ecstatic to be back on QVC with the one and only Dennis Basso!
