Neighborhood Favorites with Beth + The Marvelush TSV

Hi Everyone!

 

Fall is my favorite season and I especially love our Lizden downtown neighborhood when the air is crisp and I can layer up in my new waffle shrug (come back at Midnight for the the TSV price!) Let me take you on a tour of our favorite bars and restaurants.

My husband, Dennis, and I opened Lizden in 1987 in a little known neighborhood called Tribeca.  Bubby’s, at 120 Hudson, opened as a pie company then restaurant and quickly became a favorite spot….great for breakfast or brunch always filled with young families!

Around the corner at 16 N Moore St. I’m visiting Walkers, an old neighborhood tavern, opened in the 1880s that serves great American classics.  Many of the wait staff have worked there for decades, Charming!

When Lizden moved to SOHO in the 90s, we were thrilled to have Giorgio DeLuca, founder of Dean & DeLuca open his Italian restaurant around the corner. Giorgione at 307 Spring St. serves the freshest, most delicious food. Giorgio Armani agrees with me naming it his favorite spot in NYC.

Historic EAR Inn, the oldest working bar in New York, is cozy and quaint with an eclectic crowd of drinkers and diners. Located at 326 Spring St., and originally only 5 feet from the old shoreline of the Hudson River, it is still housed in its Landmark Federal building. Lamb burgers and Sheppard’s pie are favorites.

Last but not least, is The Odeon at 145 W Broadway. The first restaurant opened by the McNally brothers in 1980, and designed to resemble a Parisian brasserie it’s still the cool downtown destination for the SNL stars, artist, actors and musicians.  Bright, noisy and always packed, it’s a great place to celebrate any occasion and we have celebrated many there!
