NFL - Week 8

by on ‎11-02-2012 03:16 PM

The city of Atlanta has been energized by their undefeated Falcons.  For the first time in franchise history the “dirty birds” stand alone as the only undefeated team in the NFL at 7-0.  What a tribute to the job Mike Smith and his staff have done.  Matt Ryan has turned into an elite quarterback who is surrounded by scoring weapons from Michael Turner to Roddy White to Tony Gonzalez.  They will entertain the Dallas Cowboys this week who would love to give the Falcons their first loss.  The ‘Boyz are hungry to prove that they are better than their current 3-4 record but Tony Romo has to cut down on his “league leading” 13 interceptions if they want to have a shot.

There has been a lot of talk about rookie quarterbacks Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts and Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins.  But I’d like to give a “shout out” to Josh Freeman, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Bucs, who has been setting the field on fire the last three weeks.  He led his team to a 36-17 victory over a very solid Minnesota Vikings team last weekend.  If you are into Fantasy Football try to get him on the roster.

Some other interesting matchups coming up this week will be the Steelers at the Giants and the Eagles visiting the Saints. The Giants are 6-2 and playing like they are hungry for a trip to the Super Bowl next February.  The Steelers are starting to gel now that they have most of their players back.  The Eagles have to turn things around against the Saints or both Michael Vick and Andy Reid may find themselves out of a job next year.

The best part of my job is hosting the NFL Shop on QVC.  I hope you will join me and Jennifer Coffey this coming Monday, November 5th at 6pm ET.  We will be featuring 4 brand new items and our Hot Pick! is the return of our  overwhelmingly popular NFL Pro Line Retro Badge Full-Zip Contrast Stitch Sherpa HoodieWe will have a great range of sizes available in every team in both men’s and women’s sizes and it will be available on 3 easy payments of $19.99.  It will make a great Christmas gift for that NFL fan on your list.  Hope to see you then!
