My Verona Collection

Hi everyone,

I'm thrilled for our Friday miniseries because we have a selection of pieces coming up from my Verona Collection that I know you will just love. One of my favorite places to visit in the world is Italy, and of course my travels always inspire the shapes and textures found in my jewelry. Italy is simply the most wonderful place to relax and appreciate the finer things in life – including of course its incomparable food (this could be a whole blog about pasta!) but also its architecture, culture, and tradition of fine craftsmanship and design.   There’s no other place in the world that creates jewelry and luxury goods with such keen attention to detail, which is exactly why I wanted my Verona collection to be Italian-made.

In years past, I’ve had several coin pieces in my couture collection, and I’m excited to bring a vintage coin suite to QVC.  Vintage coins are a fascinating look into a different place and time, and I find that including them in my jewelry adds a certain authenticity and cultural flavor.  When I found authentic Italian Lire coins, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to pair them with my Italian-made Verona collection. Circulated during the reign of Vittorio Emanuele III from 1900 – 1943, the coins I used in this collection are all 20 cent coins called “Libertá Librata,” which means “Freedom Soaring.”

My sterling Verona Lire Coin Station Rope Necklace has a beautiful textured rope chain, which is produced in Italy as well.  I’ve also added special detailing around the coin to accentuate its beautiful front and back faces.  This piece pairs very well with my Lire Coin Ring.

When I was planning this collection, I knew that I wanted to include tubogas, a metalworking technique from the 1920s.   A flexible band of smooth rounded spirals, tubogas pieces are produced with no soldering, and take their shape from gas pipes found in the earliest luxury Italian sports cars.  The majority of tubogas is hand made and the Italians are known for making some of the best in the world.  The Sterling Verona Lire Coin Tubogas Cuff Bracelet feels good on your wrist and has absolutely beautiful movement – it’s so fluid.  I’m also featuring a tubogas cuff with hearts on the end that have been covered in pave.

To me, pieces of jewelry that have a story are always more meaningful and these lire coin designs have history and depth.

Do any of your favorite jewelry pieces have a story behind them?  Tell me all about it in the comments below or on my Facebook page.

I hope you’ll join me for my June 19th show from 11am – 12pm.  See you soon!

With love, Judith

With all due respect...and, I have collected from you for 14 years. The prices are getting to be much too high! I'm fortunate that when I was working I would treat myself to a piece of your private silver collection once every couple months. But I suffered a severe work related injury. I was a registered nurse for over 30 years. I'm now 100% disabled. Needless to say my days of buying from Madison Ave are over.

I would like to occasionally buy from QVC. And I did recently purchase a two tone verge style tank watch. I am they type of customer that would prefer real stones and only real stones. I'm not a DMQ fan and, for me...I find it brings the design down quite a bit. There are so many other white stones to use until diamonds become reasonable again; if they ever do! judith~your designs are worth more in general than to encrust them in a CZ product!

I agree. Love the new necklace but $470 is too steep for me. I also avoid diamonique like the plague on Judith's pieces. For these prices, leave out the fake and keep it real  - even if it means no stones.

I would love to see more rings and bracelets that have no stones...just simple....I look for these vintage pieces all the time...I have been lucky enough to secure a few..I would also love to see a plain small stud...again no stones...just simple and beautiful...
