by ‎02-09-2018 03:14 PM - edited ‎02-12-2018 04:13 PM

I hope you got to see my show today at 2:00pm with Rachael Ray.  You know that we always have fun when we are working together.

But - something you may NOT know is that my niece, Hannah, won the Foodbowl competition on Rachael’s show and won 2 tickets to the Big Game!

Hannah had sent in a video showing what a big Vikings fan she was and shared two of her favorite dip recipes for game day. One person from each of the last 4 football teams were chosen, flown to NY where their favorite game day foods were judged by a player from the NY Jets. After the recipes from the Patriots, Eagles, Jaguars and Vikings were tasted, Hannah was chosen as the winner!!!

She was SO excited, and she chose to take her dad, Larry, to the BIG GAME, since it’s because of Larry’s love for football that started Hannah’s love for the game.

I had nothing to do with her winning at all, but I sure was proud of her and her hard work to get to Rachael’s show!!

Here are the recipes for the two winning dips:

Skol Sausage Dip (Skol is a Vikings chant)!

Ingredients:

1lb. of ground sausage(mild or spicy)

1 brick of cream cheese

1 can of Rotelle (tomatoes & chilies)(mild or spicy)

Directions:

Brown the ground sausage and drain the grease.

Add the cream cheese and let it melt.

Then add the can of Rotelle.

Optional: add one cup of shredded cheese.

Serve warm with Tostitos chips

2 15 oz cans whole kernel corn, drained

1 cup chopped green pepper

1/2 cup chopped red onion

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup mayonnaise

2 cups corn chips, crushed

Tortilla chips for serving

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the corn, green pepper, red onion and cheddar cheese.  Add mayo and mix until combined.  Just prior to serving, mix in crush corn chips.  Serve with tortilla chips on the side.
