Meet Tuscany, My “It” Bag for the Fall

by ‎08-08-2016 01:20 PM - edited ‎08-08-2016 02:12 PM

Earlier this year, I traveled to Milan to appear on QVC Italy for the first time. While there, I spent some time in Italy’s gorgeous rural region of Tuscany. Needless to say, I left inspired. I decided to create a bag that embodies the natural beauty I found on my travels.

Once back home in New York, I returned to my design studio and started sketching. I set out to combine the natural colors of Italy’s beauty with elements of fashion and functionality I incorporate into all my designs. As my pencil hit paper, the design came easily. Casual and easy-to-wear, the crescent-shaped hobo captures an effortlessly chic style.

With the shape in mind, the next step was to determine the material—easy! All of the luxury leathers for my bags are developed with the finest tanneries all around the world. I decided to mix textures by pairing the leather with calf suede. Up next was the color palette!

Determining the color palette is always an important part of the process. Each bag has a story, and each color introduces that story. Inspired by the colors of Tuscany swirling in mind, I chose Latte, Mahogany, Terra Cotta, Black, Soft Teal Snake, and Soft Gray Cobra with Black. Latte and Mahogany represent the natural elements of the Earth. Terra Cotta is a nod to the craftsmanship of Tuscany and the art form that originated there. Teal Snake has two elements: the exotic represents snakes found in the region and the teal represents the soothing waters of the Mediterranean. Soft Gray Cobra is also inspired by exotic snakes while the Gray represents clouds, a fierce combination. Finally, Black is a timeless fashion staple that belongs in everyone's wardrobe!

With fashion comes function. Organization is key. The interior definitely has the Aimee touch with custom lining and slip & zip pockets arranged for easy storage. The exterior has brand-new custom hardware and a hidden top zipper. I also gave this bag a padded shoulder strap for extra comfort and double slip pockets on the back for our grab and go needs!

So, what came of my Tuscany-inspired sketch session? I’m thrilled to share my aptly named Tuscany Hobo design with you on August 12th! I’ll be debuting it August 11th at 11.55pm live.

It’s a unique design that’s close to my heart, and I hope you love it as much as I do!
