Let’s start something wonderful!

Are you in?

 

It’s January 15th, over two weeks into a new year. I for one get excited over the idea of a clean slate and reflection on what I hope to accomplish over the next 365 days. But this year I’m motivated more than ever to reach out to my friends and create something different. I’m starting a new blog series and hopefully, a new community. Focused on so much more than the desire to lose a few pounds in 2018.

 

Now I should definitely pause here and explain. It actually IS weight loss that is inspiring me to start this new project. As you may know, it was ten years ago that I took on my lifelong struggle with extra weight and lost around 40 pounds (you can read more about that journey here). In the time since I posted my blog about that weight loss I’ve had dozens of people approach me asking how I did it, if it was hard, and where they could go as they took on the challenge themselves. I’m so looking forward to writing answers to all of these questions in this series. And if you’ve decided to finally take on this challenge, consider yourself a part of this community already! But even if you’re not in a place of taking on that challenge..read on. Because I think you’ll want in all the same. And for even better reasons.

 

You see, what I’ve noticed in the ten years since I decided to focus on my health and fitness is that true success is about so much more than the pounds we lose or gain. And now more than ever, I feel that we crave and need that “so much more.” We crave calm. We crave joy. We crave better food and soul-filling music. We crave a peaceful home that feels like a sanctuary. We crave interaction with people who support us and nuture our souls. We crave acknowledging the beauty that already exists inside and outside of ourselves. In short: we crave Wellness.

Of body, mind and soul.

 

Lucky for us that already has a hashtag and its own day! So here we go: #WellnessWednesday will be our place to meet and discuss all the wonderful goals that we pursue together.  Every other Wednesday I’ll post this blog with two weeks’ worth of encouragement, tips, recipes and more that target the whole picture: fitness, fun but smarter eating, relaxation tips, ways to create a home sanctuary, positive motivation, goal setting, and more. Sound like fun?

 

If you’re ready to make this year different, ready to focus on you so you can better take care of others, if you’ve tried over and over and felt alone as you try to reach your goals…comment below and let’s all support and encourage eachother! Let me know what’s on your goal list and give some verbal high-fives to your friends who are doing the same. All I ask is that we keep is positive, encouraging, and fun! I believe we can do so much more than we give ourselves credit for and I can’t wait to see us all succeed. Ready?? I’ll see you on the 17th… #WellnessWednesday!!
